Krabi
This little town didn't leave much of a deep impression on me in the rain it looked gray and sad. The local market was fun with cheap food and fresh inexpensive fruit. I only stayed one night, trying to escape the rain and dullness of the city.
Ko Phi Phi
What a beauty! Lovely beaches, green inland. The only thing that spoils it all.... too many tourists. The island is going through fast development, with hotels and bungalows spreading into the hills. The bay has too many speed boats racing in it.The beach turns into one loud party at night with the bars competing to put up the best fire dance shows. It gets trashed with empty bottles and rubbish.
There is a nice hike to the view point, with muscle burning amount of stairs. It got place in my morning jogging routine.
Ko Phi Phi is definitely a cats island. They have it all, little kittens, fat cats, white, red, Siamese... all with cute collars. I only saw few dogs on the island.
Railay
The climbers paradise. Caves, beaches with amazing sunsets and jungle hike. I enjoyed this place a lot. The night life was much more my pace, with only few bars in town. Locals are friendly and you soon feel like you belong. Monkey sitting in front of your bungalow in the morning makes it even more fun experience.
I would hike on the jungle trail every day to go to Ton Sai, with lovely beach with washed out shells , good Rasta vibes and amazing home baked banana bread.
You can go explore the Tham Phra Nang (Princess Cave) which is an important shrine for the local fisherman. It is also believed that a give of sorts ( viz picture) brings you fertility.
Phra Nang Beach was the best place on Island it watch breath taking sunsets. I would be there every evening and every evening Mother nature would put up a show better than the night before.
I am saying good bye to touristy Thailand with it's beautiful tropical islands, limestone towers and amazing food. Next destination Malaysia.
