As most of you probably noticed I have stopped blogging for quite a while. Here comes the update at last.
I came back to New Zealand after exploring Fiji in September. Back to my work as a breakfast and lunch chef in a small lodge located at the end of the World, more specifically on the far end of the lake Wakatipu 76 km from Queenstown.
With the season getting busier, my life soon turned into endless hours in the kitchen, cooking, baking and serving lovely food became the adventure of the day. That all set in postcard-like nature setting with sunsets and sunrises worth wowing...

I still try to get out and spend my days off seeing bits and parts of New Zealand I haven't seen yet. Purchase of a car made it all much easier. Getting used to driving on the "wrong" side of the road took some time, but now I am cruising on the road almost like a local ( that means I swear at tourist for driving slow, or stopping on unsuitable spots to take photos).
Lake Tekapo
Lake Tekapo is one of the most photographed places in New Zealand thanks to the thousands of colorful Lupen flowers. They start blooming around December and I wasn't going to miss it this year!
I was lucky to be able to get a free ride with a helicopter to Queenstown. Leaving for my days off in style!

Wanaka
My first few trips leaded me to Wanaka. Small charming town by the lake Wanaka with lovely cafes, Patagonia Ice cream, great second hand shops and beach perfect for sunning and swimming.
Only hour drive on the dirt road will get you to Aspiring Nat. Park. The scenery is amazing with snow covered mountains and impressive Rob Roy Glacier. Cows and sheep are gazing at you as you hike deeper towards the national park.

Haast
You don't know you are on the Island unless you see the sea once in a while. So I took a bus to Haast to get my ocean fix.

Now with the tourist season slowing down and my stay coming to end, I am starting to plan more travel adventures. I am taking 4 months off to escape the winter and to travel to new places. I will be heading to Europe, with stops in Singapore, Philippines, Dubai, Czech Rep, Greece and than back via Indonesia... and who knows, maybe more...
